What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
I have worked in hepatology for the past 21 years. I enjoy educating my patients about their liver. I also teach at the UW Physician Assistant School within the SMPH.
What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I got my undergraduate degree at UW Madison and feel in love with the city. I had always hoped to move back to the area and was fortunate enough to do so in 2010.
What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I’m excited to be the first PA on the CT track with the department. I hope to grow in my collaboration with other health care providers.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I have 3 young boys who keep me busy and up to date on current video games. I also enjoy spending time on the water and watching any Badger sporting event.
Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
“Always remember why you got into medicine”. This small phrase can really help to lift your spirits even in the darkest times and help you to provide the best care for your patients.
