What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
I'm excited to take on the variety of challenges clinical care in hospital medicine has to offer. My research interests broadly are in critical care and outcomes research. Also, being a former chief resident, I can't wait to get involved again in the teaching and mentoring of residents and medical students

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I grew up in Wisconsin and did my undergraduate studies here at UW so returning to Madison seemed to be a natural fit. I also wanted to be part of a large academic institution again and what better place in this state to do so than UW.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I'm thrilled to meet and learn from people as passionate about medicine and learning as I am. Having graduated residency not too long ago, the level of enthusiasm for teaching and learning has been incredible and it gets me excited to come to work each day.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy water skiing in the summer and snow skiing in the winter. I love spending time with my friends and family especially as we cheer on the Badgers, Bucks, and Packers

Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
You can either suffer the pain of discipline or the pain of disappointment.
