Dr. Ellen Barbouche appointed hospitalist site lead at UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital

Dr. Ellen Barbouche

Ellen Barbouche, MD, clinical associate professor, Hospital Medicine, has been appointed site lead for hospitalist services at the UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital.

This facility opened in late 2015 as a 50-bed, post-acute inpatient rehabilitation care facility adjacent to UW Health at The American Center on the far east side of Madison, Wisconsin.

The location offers specialized programs for people who have experienced stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions requiring inpatient rehabilitative services to help patients achieve their highest level of recovery with a goal of returning home as soon as they are able.

In her role as site lead, Dr. Barbouche will assume responsibility for day-to-day operational issues for hospitalist services at the rehabilitation hospital.

Dr. Barbouche earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and completed her residency at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine.
