Family organizes event to benefit cancer research

Dr. Aric Hall

The family of Katie Udelhofen-Clark, who died of leukemia in her early 30s, created a benefit event called We Believe in Katie to raise funding for cancer research.

Udelhofen-Clark's life was extended by six months due to cancer treatment at UW.

"Those six months for a thirty-year-old with her child, those are things that are really important, as is people turning sad things into good things as well," said Aric Hall, MD, assistant professor (CHS), Hematology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care.

During and interview on WISC-TV, Dr. Hall explained that pilot studies supported by small fundraisers such as this make a difference in advancing cancer research and treatments.
