Funding awarded to support Global Health collaboration

Dr. Dawd Siraj

Dawd Siraj, MD, MPH&TM (pictured at right), professor (CHS), Infectious Disease and Nasia Safdar, MD, PhD (pictured at far right), professor, Infectious Disease were awarded $5,000 over one year from the 2017 African Studies International Collaborator Award program. 

The funds enable the travel of Daniel Yilma, MD and Alemseged Abdissa, PhD from the Department of Internal Medicine and Medical Microbiology at Jimma University in Ethiopia to Madison to attend the UW Global Health Quality Improvement Leadership Institute in July, 2017. 

Drs. Vilma and Abdissa are collaborating with Drs. Siraj and Safdar on quality improvement projects in infectious disease.
