Blair Golden, MD, MSBlair Golden, MD, MS

Assistant Professor
Division of Hospital Medicine

What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
Clinically, my focus is on the inpatient care of hospitalized adults. My research interests are broadly in health services and outcomes research and in medical education. I also hope to become involved in some of the teaching opportunities available within the department.

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I think that the Department of Medicine offers it all: top-notch clinical care, outstanding academic opportunities, and the opportunity to work with exceptionally bright and hard-working trainees. In addition, my husband and I were excited to relocate to a more family-friendly city after previously living in Chicago and Baltimore.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I am excited to learn from all of the wonderful individuals within the department.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
My husband and I have been enjoying exploring the Madison area with our two young children, even with the challenges and limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also in the process of renovating a historic home in the University Heights neighborhood.
