What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
My foremost and perpetual professional focus is clinical; caring for hospitalized adults providing high-quality and compassionate care. Additionally, medical education is a passion of mine which I intend to cultivate at UW.
 
What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I was impressed by the leadership in the Department of Medicine and Division of Hospital Medicine and the core values of the institution. More generally, everyone in the field of medicine remembers an attending or educator who inspired them. I wanted to be at an academic medical center where there are tremendous opportunities to do good and inspire future physicians.
 
What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
While continuing to grow as a young clinician, I’m excited to integrate into a new health care system with the great people and opportunities here at UW.
 
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Getting out and appreciating nature, exercising, watching sports, antiquing, and enjoying good food and beer!
