What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
My primary professional focus is both excellent clinical care in general cardiovascular medicine and cardiovascular imaging, including structural heart disease, and on the medical education of medical students, residents, and fellows.

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I have lived in Wisconsin for the majority of my life and met my husband while we were undergraduates here at the University of Wisconsin. As I progressed through medical training, I have constantly been captivated by the excellent academic rigor, research, and clinical care provided here. The people and the environment at the University of Wisconsin are truly wonderful, and I feel so fortunate to stay in Madison as I begin my professional career.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I am excited to focus on patient care, develop my professional niche, and cultivate my medical education skills.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I spend time with my family, including my husband, two sons, and dog. We enjoy being active outdoors, football, volleyball, biking, and cooking.

Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
Do no harm. Fix what is broken. Always treat the patient, not the numbers.
