What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
My primary professional focus embraces the delivery of high-quality clinical care through interventional cardiovascular therapies in addition to establishing a Structural Heart and Complex Coronary Intervention Program at our affiliate VA Hospital to improve access for our Veterans. Further, my research laboratory focuses on basic and translation approaches aimed at improving transcatheter bioprosthetic valve durability.
What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
I have been part of the UW-Madison community since the beginning of my undergraduate studies and have loved every minute of it.
What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
Establishing my research laboratory and the VA Structural Heart program.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
Family time (especially with our newborn son), walks with our German Shephard, and house renovation projects.
