Research aims to help clinicians identify and report suspected child abuse

Dr. David Feldstein

David Feldstein, MD, associate professor (CHS), General Internal Medicine, is the UW-Madison site Principal Investigator on a recently funded Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Dissemination proposal entitled, "Disseminating Child Abuse Clinical Decision Support to Improve Detection, Evaluation, and Reporting." 

The two-year, $709,000 (total across all sites) project will help clinicians identify, evaluate and report suspected child abuse through a tailored clinical-decision-support package embedded in electronic health records in five emergency departments at the University of Wisconsin and Northwell Health in New York. 

On an unrelated note, Dr. Feldstein has been appointed to the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Epistaxis Guideline Panel. Dr. Feldstein is representing the American College of Physicians (ACP) on the panel.
