What is your primary professional focus in any or all of our mission areas (clinical, research, and/or medical education)?
I work as a Geriatric memory and dementia physician in our UW Memory Clinics. My clinical focus is on developing a dementia care pathway that provides care to both patients and their caregivers from diagnosis to death. I also work as the Director of Medical Services in the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) as a collaborator and study investigator.

What drew you to UW-Madison and the Department of Medicine?
After my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease I moved back to Wisconsin to be close to my parents. Fortunately, UW-Madison and the Division of Geriatrics are leaders in Alzheimer's disease research. My father's diagnosis led me to change career paths and Madison has been a perfect place to do it.

What are you most excited about during your first year with the department in this role?
I am excited to work in the WI ADRC and with the many amazing scientists dedicating their lives to curing the disease. I am grateful to be providing care to the patients with dementia and their families and hope to improve upon that with my work on the pathways clinic.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I run as often as I can, both for enjoyment and brain health. I love to travel but recently bought a home so will now focus that energy on remodeling projects. I don't necessarily enjoy walking my dog every day but do it regardless because she's worth it.

Favorite piece of advice from a mentor or inspiring figure in your life?
Tomorrow was never promised.
